Because high-quality Chinese tea is brewed using multiple infusions. This means the same leaves are steeped many times, and the essence of a tea ceremony is to taste each infusion, noticing how the flavor and aroma evolve. That’s why tea cups are small (compared to regular mugs) — you’ll typically drink 6–10 cups in one session. If they were regular-sized cups, no one would make it through the ceremony. The volume of our cups is carefully calibrated — something tea enthusiasts often point out. It’s no coincidence: I’ve been deeply into tea for over 15 years and know from experience exactly how many sips a proper tea cup should hold.

Because every cup is handmade. The shape is formed by hand, the texture is applied manually, and the glazing is done with a brush. This results in each piece having its own unique form, texture, and glaze expression.

50–100 ml depending on the model. That’s just a few sips — enough to fully experience the flavor and aroma of each infusion.

Since every cup is handmade, I personally control the thickness. The walls are balanced perfectly: thick enough to protect your fingers from heat, yet capable of maintaining the temperature of the tea.

This cup was made by Illia. It’s fully handmade from Ukrainian clay. All texturing is done by hand, sometimes using special loop tools. The glazing is applied with high-quality German BOTZ glazes using a brush, which allows for a deeper and richer glaze expression. So this cup is entirely handmade from start to finish. The full production process takes 1–2 months, including drying, double firing, and finishing (texturing and sanding).

Teaware for high-quality Chinese tea is traditionally washed without detergents — only with water. For Chinese tea culture, using soap can even feel inappropriate. However, if needed, you can wash our ceramics like regular tableware.

We pack every order as securely as possible — safe delivery is our responsibility. If anything gets damaged due to unforeseen circumstances, it will be handled between us and the shipping carrier, as all parcels are fully insured. The customer bears no financial risk. Honestly, we don’t remember the last time anything was broken in transit.

With every tea cup, we include a home clay workshop kit: a piece of sculpting clay and a detailed laminated guide explaining how to shape, texture, dry, and work with clay in general. We do this so you can personally connect with the material your tea cup is made from.
