Because high-quality Chinese tea is brewed using multiple infusions. This means the same leaves are steeped many times, and the essence of the tea ceremony is to taste each infusion, noticing how the flavor and aroma evolve. That’s why tea cups are small (compared to regular cups) — you’ll typically drink 6–10 cups in one session. Mini cups are a choice for true tea enthusiasts who understand the power of smaller volumes. In fact, we created this mini version because we were asked for it again and again.

Because every tea cup is handmade. The shape is formed by hand, the texture is applied manually, and the glaze is applied with a brush. As a result, each piece has its own unique form, texture, and glaze expression.

25–35 ml depending on the model. Mini cups are a choice for dedicated tea lovers who appreciate the precision and intensity of smaller servings. And again — we made them because so many people asked for them.

Since every cup is handmade, I personally control the thickness. The walls are balanced perfectly — thick enough to protect your fingers from heat, while still maintaining the temperature of the tea.

This cup was made by Illia. It’s fully handmade from Ukrainian clay. All texturing is done by hand, sometimes using special loop tools. The glazing is applied with high-quality German BOTZ glazes using a brush to achieve a deeper and richer finish. So this is a fully handmade piece from start to finish. The full production process takes 1–2 months, including drying, double firing, and finishing (texturing and sanding).

Teaware for high-quality Chinese tea is traditionally not washed with detergents — only with water. For Chinese tea culture, using soap may even feel inappropriate. However, if needed, you can wash our ceramics like regular tableware.

We pack every order as securely as possible — safe delivery is our responsibility. If anything happens, it will be handled between us and the shipping provider, as all parcels are fully insured. The customer bears no financial risk. Honestly, we don’t remember the last time anything was broken in transit.

With every tea cup, we include a home clay workshop kit: a piece of sculpting clay and a detailed laminated guide explaining how to shape, texture, dry, and work with clay. We do this so you can personally connect with the material your tea cup is made from.

Who needs such a small tea bowl?

Mini bowls, although small, are smart and very necessary for two categories of tea lovers. Moreover, none of us knows when he will find himself in one of these categories. Therefore, if we do not even count those who like to drink “just a little, don’t pour me more”, then we will get two huge categories of tea fans who really need small tea bowls for a tea ceremony:

    •  those who constantly drink tea in a large company and who need to somehow drink a large number of people, but from bowls and from traditional teapots
    • those who have already reached the TEA SENIOR level and understand the power of the principle “1 pour – 1 sip”

Regarding the first, everything is clear to us, when it is necessary to distribute teaware to a bunch of people, then the only method is to reduce the size of the tea bowl and increase the volume of the teapot. But why the masters reduce the volume of tea in each pour for themselves is a more subtle and complex insider, which I do not want to explain in words. I think that when a tea lover comes to this, it’s not about words, but about feelings. Those people who take our mini bowls for Chinese tea always evaluate the size meticulously, because they need exactly small ones. Small clay bowl for

Chinese tea bowl as a deeper movement

When making handmade tea sets, you encounter various questions: what is the ideal bowl for pu-erh? Or what is a really small tea bowl? Or why do we need a 25 ml tea bowl? Since it is not immediately clear what the question is and what the answer will be, it is an honor to make the answer with your own hands. Now I already know the reaction of the public, so I know that it was a great idea to create such small and valuable mini tea bowls for those who know their value. You can order small or medium bowls for a tea ceremony by simply adding them to the cart. Each product comes with a free sculpting master class, which includes a piece of sculptural clay and detailed laminated instructions on how to sculpt, dry, and generally handle clay. This way you can get to know the material yourself.

P.S. The price for the products is for one tea bowl.
