Difficulties in creating a handmade ceramic sculpture
The main problem is that ceramics explode. Even pendant lights sometimes explode during firing. And you don’t know whether your handmade sculpture will live to see results or not. We have always gravitated towards sculpture because it was from it that our attraction to ceramics and clay began. The only problem is that it is morally very difficult for us to make handmade ceramics at the level of hotel art, so we decided to integrate sculptural motifs into other ceramic product categories. That’s what we did with sculptural vases, dishes, lamps, plates, tea and coffee sets. But when we take on something large-scale like a panel or a ceramic figure, it has to be something so exceptional and may the ceramic god of luck give us at least one copy, because we do not sculpt the second identical sculpture or panel.
Modern Ukrainian ceramic panel – maximum uniqueness
Our sculptures are made entirely by hand, so we cannot replicate them or make them the same. This is probably the main joke, that this is an authentic artifact in a single copy. There is such an abbreviation in English OOAK. It means One Of A Kind. This can be said about all our products, but sculptures are a special case, because we do not repeat them, even if they are similar in design. These are the ones that are currently available – these are the ones that can be purchased. The next collection will consist of other ceramic sculptures. Because these are real art objects, not Chinese figurines.
Home sculptures as an accent of the interior
We make our ceramic panels and sculptures so accent and bright precisely so that they work for the interior, and not just be a self-sufficient work of art. First of all, I think about the space when I create an art object. I want the sculpture to catch the eye, but not in a brazen way, without preventing the interior from being what it is. This is an important point: more meaning, less unnecessary provocation. Let the work be bright – the main thing is not to be too flashy.
