Yes, you can. Due to the unique design of our teapots — a hybrid of a gaiwan and a teapot — our pieces are suitable for brewing most types of Chinese tea, including both shou and sheng pu-erh.

We aimed to create a universal form so you can enjoy most types of tea. White, green, and both light and dark oolongs work perfectly, just like in a traditional gaiwan. Pu-erh and black teas will also brew beautifully, as long as you properly preheat the teapot before your tea session.

The tea trays (chaban) are made by a Ukrainian craftsman, STEPCHUKWORKSHOP. You can find him on Google or Instagram. Be sure to mention that you’re coming from Illia at KERRA and use the promo code “CLAY&WOOD” for a discount. I’ve personally been using his trays for years and haven’t seen anything more beautiful or well-crafted on the Ukrainian market.

Yes, absolutely. You can order extra cups — either matching this set or different ones. Just place an order, and we’ll get in touch to clarify all the details.

Yes, this set is perfect for beginners. It works with most tea types and sets a high standard in terms of aesthetics from the very start. Another advantage is that it’s fully handmade and includes everything needed for a tea ceremony. The teapot also features a spout, making pouring easier than with a traditional gaiwan.

Yes, it includes everything required for a Chinese tea ceremony: a teapot (gaiwan), a cha hai (fairness pitcher), a cha he (tea presentation vessel), and cups.

To be clear, China also produces incredible handmade teaware — especially at a high level — but this does not apply to mass-market items from AliExpress. From a technical standpoint, our pieces are more durable because we use only high-quality German glazes. The walls are thicker — we don’t skimp on Ukrainian clay — which helps prevent burning your fingers. We also developed a unique teapot shape that works well with different tea types and added a spout for easier pouring.

This tea set is a collaboration between two brothers — Anton and Illia. Anton shapes the gaiwan and cha hai, while Illia makes the cups and cha he. We handle sanding together, while Illia is responsible for textures. Hand glazing with a brush is divided by color: Anton works more with green, beige, and white, while Illia handles most of the other colors. So each set is truly a collaborative, brother-made piece. The full production process takes 1 to 2 months, including drying, double firing, and finishing (texturing and sanding).

Teaware used for high-quality Chinese tea is traditionally not washed with detergents — only with water. For Chinese tea culture, using soap may even feel inappropriate. However, if needed, you can wash our ceramics just like any regular tableware.

We pack every order as securely as possible — safe delivery is our responsibility. If any damage occurs due to unforeseen circumstances, it will be handled between us and the shipping provider, as all parcels are fully insured. The customer bears no financial risk. That said, we honestly can’t remember the last time anything was broken in transit.

With every tea set, we include a mini cup matching the set and a home clay workshop kit: a piece of sculpting clay plus a detailed laminated guide explaining how to shape, texture, dry, and work with clay in general. We do this so you can personally connect with the material your tea set is made from.
